Thomas Long, A.A.e. BIO
Thomas has extensive Aviation Management experience and has been instructing undergraduate courses since 1997. Covering courses in Airport Management, Airport Planning, General Aviation Operations, Legal Aspects of Aviation, Fiscal Aspects of Aviation, Safety Management Systems, Labor Relations, Strategic Management and Airport Operations. Mr. Long holds an MBA in Management with Golden Gate University and a BS in Aviation Management with Southern Illinois University. He earned his Accreditation with the American Association of Airport Executives in May 2005.
- Mr. Long served in the Air Force over a 12-year period before moving on to work with The Boeing Company Wind Tunnel Complex in Seattle, Washington. He has over 22 years of experience working in the civilian airport environment with 6 separate airports; managing 4 of those as an Airport Manager/Director. In 1994, while managing an airport noise abatement program at Paine Field, he volunteered with the Airport Operations department at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport for two years. During the period of 1997- 2011, Mr. Long managed 3 general aviation airports, one of which also included managing Fixed Base Operations which included the flight school, line service operations and aircraft maintenance operations. A fourth airport he managed was a non-hub commercial service airport.
